The reason we paid cash money to go to a commercial sledding place was because of the terrible weather. Our cabin was about 100 steps away from a beautiful sledding hill, and we just couldn't enjoy it. Every step in the snow was a step into soaking wet slush and ice up to our knees, and we were getting hailed on . Boylee and Daddy managed one run, and that ended in sobbing and tears because we were so cold and wet. So yes, we did go to the place with groomed runs AND a carpet lift! Check it out:

OMG. I'd never even HEARD of such a thing. I just assumed it was like the resorts that send out a few folks to tidy up before the skiers set out. What a great idea!
Wait so does that thing move like the belt at the airport? And you stand on it and it takes you to the top of the hill? Awesome!

FUN and worth the price! (although I don't know what the price is!) No slush!
It was $25 per person, except I didn't go in, and Boylee was free for being 6 or under...so at a grand total of $25 it was worth it. Plus I sat at a picnic table in the sun and was able to watch them sledding, and provide snacks when called upon.
